The Level 5 Extended Diploma in Education and Training Management is a two-year programme that develops your practical teaching skills and prepares you to work and lead in a wide range of education and training settings. In the first year you study six Level 4 units on the foundations of education and training practice; in the second, six Level 5 units on learning and assessment theory, behaviour management, lifelong learning, resource management, leadership and reflective practice.
It is a 240-credit qualification (120 credits at Level 4 and 120 at Level 5) with 2,400 hours of Total Qualification Time and a recommended minimum of 1,200 guided learning hours. It is assessed as academically equivalent to a Higher National Diploma (HND) and Year 2 of a three-year UK bachelor's degree. At Brussels College of Business and Technology (BCBT) it is studied fully online and typically takes two years.
Awarded by a UK awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual (RQF Level 5). Offered by BCBT through our approved affiliated partners.
This qualification gives you the knowledge and skills to prepare for a teaching or training role, but it does not on its own lead to QTLS status or make you a recognised qualified teacher.
Aspiring and current trainers, tutors and team leaders aged 18 or over who want a two-year route from teaching practice to leading and managing education and training.
Equivalent to the first two years of an honours degree, from foundations to Level 5.
Lead your area of responsibility, develop operational plans and manage human and financial resources.
Portfolios of evidence and a work-plan project built from your own practice.
If you leave after passing all six Level 4 units, you may be awarded the Level 4 Diploma.
You are typically aged 18 or over, and your entry profile is likely to include at least one of the following:
